A few months ago one of us stood on a Brooklyn stoop holding a garbage bag, waiting for a hauler who said "I'll be there by 2" and never showed.
That hauler had already been paid a deposit. The couch was half-blocking the sidewalk. A DSNY truck rolled past and slowed down. Two neighbors walked by and asked what was going on.
We called 1-800-GOT-JUNK. They wanted $300 for a single sofa. We called LoadUp. They booked us for "Tuesday" and didn't show until Friday. Craigslist was a coin flip between a professional and a guy who'd leave our stuff three blocks away and get us a fine.
None of the options worked. So we built one that does.

Where we go from here
JunkRabbit is the first two weeks of what we think the next decade of junk removal looks like. A few things we're actively building, in order:
- Proof-of-destination. Every pickup gets photo evidence of where it actually ended up — donated, recycled, or disposed. Nobody in this industry does this today.
- Donation tax receipts. If a hauler drops your items at Goodwill, you get the IRS-compliant receipt auto-generated and emailed.
- Live GPS tracking during pickup. Watch your hauler approach, the way you watch a DoorDash driver.
- Building-manager portal. Property managers running tenant cleanouts get a dashboard, monthly invoices, bulk pricing.
- Other cities. Westchester, Long Island, the rest of North Jersey, then out of the region. The infrastructure to run a modern single-truck hauler exists nowhere — we're building it.
