What Canarsie pickups actually look like

Canarsie occupies the southeastern Brooklyn peninsula along Jamaica Bay, between East Flatbush (west), East New York (north), and the Bay (south and east). The neighborhood was historically Jewish then heavily Italian-American — over the last 20 years it has transitioned to a substantial Caribbean (Jamaican, Trinidadian, Haitian, Guyanese) majority, with the Italian-American old guard still present in pockets.

The NYCHA Bayview Houses complex sits at the southern edge of the neighborhood near Jamaica Bay (Seaview Avenue, East 91st-92nd Streets). Standard NYCHA workflow there. The neighborhood is bounded on the south by the Belt Parkway.
