The neighborhood roughly covers the blocks between 9th Street (south) and Warren Street (north), 3rd Avenue (east) and Hoyt/Bond Streets (west).
Most of our Gowanus work splits between three categories. Industrial / artist studio cleanouts — the brick warehouses along Carroll Street, 3rd Avenue, and the canal house active studios, photo / video production, fabrication shops; periodic cleanouts of materials, samples, equipment, and end-of-lease moves. Post-2021 rezoning high-rise residential — the new mid- and high-rise apartment buildings along 3rd and 4th Avenue have standard doorman freight workflow. 3rd Avenue commercial strip — Whole Foods, Lowe's, the Bell House, and smaller retail / restaurant cleanouts.
The Gowanus Canal Superfund cleanup (EPA, 2010 designation) doesn't change normal residential or commercial junk routing — we don't transport contaminated sediment or hazardous materials, which require specialized EPA-licensed handlers.
