Upload Photos & Get Quote →St. George sits at the northern tip of Staten Island, on the harbor opposite Lower Manhattan. The Staten Island Ferry Terminal anchors the neighborhood, and Richmond County Borough Hall, the Staten Island Supreme Court, and the borough's main public-facing government buildings are all clustered here. Around them: the historic Victorian and Queen Anne single-family homes that line Hamilton Avenue and the streets uphill from the ferry, pre-war 3-5 story walk-up apartment buildings near Bay Street and the ferry terminal, and a newer layer of waterfront developments — Empire Outlets, Lighthouse Point Residences, and the surrounding mixed-use construction that's emerged in the past decade.
St. George is also distinctive as one of the few Staten Island neighborhoods with apartment-density rather than purely single-family housing. The neighborhood feels more urban than the rest of the borough — closer to Bay Ridge or Astoria in its mix than to Tottenville or Eltingville.
For our trucks, St. George is reachable via Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge from Brooklyn, Goethals or Bayonne Bridge from NJ. Once we're in the neighborhood, the side streets uphill from the ferry are residential and workable; the waterfront commercial corridor has dedicated loading at the newer developments.
