Causeway-bridge access to a 1.5-mile nautical village. Smaller truck for the narrow side streets, full-size for the City Island Avenue runs. Same Bronx flat rate despite the geography.

Upload Photos & Get Quote →City Island is the Bronx's most unusual neighborhood — a 1.5-mile-long nautical village connected to the mainland by a single causeway bridge (replaced in 2017). The main strip is City Island Avenue, lined with historic Victorian and frame two-family houses, seafood restaurants, ship-fitting shops, and the marinas that anchor the local economy. The side streets — Schofield, Bay Street, Hawkins, Tier, Carroll, Beach — are narrow lanes that don't fit a full 16-cubic-yard box truck.
Operational realities: we use a 12-foot box truck for the narrow side-street pickups and stage on City Island Avenue. The causeway gets clogged on summer weekends from the seafood-restaurant crowd; we schedule weekday mornings for fastest turnaround. The island has a tight-knit, multi-generational resident community — many families have been here for 4-5 generations.
Demographically, City Island skews white-American (Italian, Irish heritage) with a long-running maritime and boat-craft economy. Standard English crew workflow.

"Uploaded a photo of my old couch and had a quote in literally 7 seconds. Hauler showed up same day. Way cheaper than 1-800-GOT-JUNK."
"Moved out of my Williamsburg apartment and needed everything gone. JunkRabbit cleared the whole place in 2 hours. The pricing was transparent — no surprises."
"Had a fridge and washer to get rid of. They handled the heavy lifting from my 4th floor walk-up. Price was exactly what the quote said."
