Housing is overwhelmingly 1940s-50s detached single-family brick homes with side driveways and attached one-car garages. Property turnover is generationally slow; many homes have been in the same Italian-American family for two or three generations.
Operational reality: no stairs. We back the truck up the driveway and load off the porch, garage, or basement bilco. Trucks come in via I-95 (Exit 8B, Country Club Road) or down Westchester Avenue from Pelham Bay.
The neighborhood vibe is suburban — quieter than the rest of the Bronx, similar in feel to Whitestone or eastern Throgs Neck.
