Service across 10014 — the 19th-century brownstones along Charles, Perry, Bank, West 10th, West 11th, and West 12th; the walk-up tenements on the side streets; the converted carriage houses; the modern condos along the West Side Highway. Greenwich Village Historic District-aware crews.

Upload Photos & Get Quote →The West Village is among the lowest-rise neighborhoods in Manhattan. Most buildings are 3-4 stories — Greek Revival and Italianate brownstones built between 1820 and 1860, plus smaller tenement walk-ups and the occasional converted carriage house. The street grid breaks the Manhattan rectangle: West 4th crosses West 11th, Bleecker arcs, Greenwich and Hudson run on diagonals. Streets are narrow and tree-lined — beautiful, slow for trucks. The entire neighborhood (and the broader Greenwich Village) is a designated NYC Historic District, which restricts exterior alterations but doesn't affect interior junk removal.
The Far West Village — between Greenwich Street and the West Side Highway — has a different feel: modern condos, the new Whitney Museum-adjacent buildings, and dedicated loading docks. These are easier jobs than the brownstone interior blocks.
The other West Village layer is the pre-war elevator co-ops along the avenues — Hudson, Greenwich, Sixth — which operate on standard NYC building protocols: COI, freight-elevator slot booking, managing-agent paperwork.

"Brownstone on Charles Street — selling after 25 years. Three floors, original wide-plank floors throughout. The crew used corner protectors and moving blankets through every doorway, original banister never saw a scratch. Three-day clearout, exactly the quoted price."
"Walk-up on Bank Street, 4th floor. Old couch, queen mattress, broken bookshelves. They came at 9 AM, narrow staircase wasn't a problem, gone by 10:30. Exact quote, no surprise fees."
"Far West Village condo near the West Side Highway — building loading dock, freight slot 11 AM. Two hours, old furniture and a Peloton out, no fuss. Probably the smoothest pickup I've ever had."
