Upload Photos & Get Quote →Kips Bay is Manhattan's medical district — anchored by NYU Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital (the oldest public hospital in the United States), the VA Hospital, and the surrounding workforce housing for medical residents, fellows, faculty, and staff. The neighborhood occupies the East 27th-34th Street zone between Lexington Avenue and the East River.
Operationally, the medical workforce drives our schedule. Medical resident turnover concentrates around June-July as cohorts rotate — bedroom sets, IKEA wardrobes, twin XL mattresses, IKEA desks. We batch these weeks. Faculty / fellow moves happen year-round but cluster around academic transitions.
The housing stock is a mix of postwar 2nd Avenue towers (most have freight elevators with managing-agent COI workflow), the Kips Bay Towers co-op complex (I.M. Pei 1965, two slab buildings on 2nd Avenue between 30th and 33rd Street), and some 1990s-2000s condo construction. A few prewar low-rise buildings remain east of First Avenue.

"Uploaded a photo of my old couch and had a quote in literally 7 seconds. Hauler showed up same day. Way cheaper than 1-800-GOT-JUNK."
"Moved out of my Williamsburg apartment and needed everything gone. JunkRabbit cleared the whole place in 2 hours. The pricing was transparent — no surprises."
"Had a fridge and washer to get rid of. They handled the heavy lifting from my 4th floor walk-up. Price was exactly what the quote said."
