North of Little Italy — converted tenement walk-ups on Mott, Mulberry, Elizabeth; the boutique retail spine; and multi-generation Italian-American family households still anchored around Old St. Patrick's.

Upload Photos & Get Quote →Nolita (North of Little Italy) is a small dense pocket between Houston and Broome, Bowery and Lafayette. The housing is overwhelmingly 5- and 6-story prewar tenement walk-ups — many built in the 1880s-1900s for the Italian immigrant wave that gave Little Italy its name. The neighborhood's modern identity is a hybrid: half-gentrified boutique retail and restaurant corridor (Mulberry, Mott, Elizabeth between Houston and Prince), half long-held Italian-American multi-generation households still anchored around Old St. Patrick's Cathedral (the original 1815 St. Patrick's at Mulberry and Prince, before the 1879 uptown cathedral).
Operationally, Nolita is small enough to feel like one block. Truck staging on Mulberry / Mott / Elizabeth itself is hard during business hours; we use Houston or Bowery and dolly through. The tenement stair turns are tight — sectional sofas come apart at the apartment door before they go down.
Estate cleanouts for long-tenured Italian-American households are a significant share of our Nolita work — donations often route through Old St. Patrick's parish, with the rest going to standard disposal.
