What Roosevelt Island pickups actually look like

Roosevelt Island is geographically a 2-mile-long island in the East River between Manhattan and Queens, administratively part of Manhattan, and operationally run by the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) — a state-level body that manages the entire island's infrastructure. The housing splits into three eras: the original 1970s Main Street development (Eastwood, Westview, Island House, Rivercross — UDC / Mitchell-Lama buildings now in various stages of post-Mitchell-Lama transition), the 2000s-era waterfront condo towers (Octagon, Riverwalk Apartments, Manhattan Park), and the post-2017 Cornell Tech campus residential.

Truck access is via the Roosevelt Island Bridge — a single drawbridge from Queens (between 36th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard). The Aerial Tram and the F train are pedestrian-only. We route trucks via the Queensboro Bridge / Astoria to reach the access bridge; the toll is in our route economics, not your invoice.

Operationally, RIOC requires Certificates of Insurance from any vendor entering buildings on the island, plus most managing agents add their own COI requirement. We bundle these together and send before pickup.
